Our predecessor, the Grammy Awards, gives golden gramophones to the year’s best recording artists. At the Phoneys, we went several steps further and awarded golden headphones to those iconic figures who helped create and pioneer Western Civilization’s finest music—from The Spice Girls to Miles Davis
Some of Birmingham’s most beloved musicians were transformed into legends. Max Rykov, along with Mike Tesney of Radio Free Alabama wrote a 90 minute original satirical award show that showcased the acting skills of Birmingham's musical heroes.
