Think you know your stuff about local, state, and federal government? Enough to be a a true, bona fide citizen? Have a heart for helping formerly incarcerated people? Then register to compete at "Citizenship Test" on April 13th at Cahaba Brewing Company! Citizenship Test is a team competition, testing the knowledge required to be an educated and compassionate member of American society. Teams will start the competition by answering civics questions. After the first rounds, the top 8 teams will compete against each other by performing various challenges that will test their humor and sense of justice. Maximum of 7 members per team!

100% of ticket sales benefit the Offender Alumni Association, whose mission is to create a network of former offenders who inspire each other to reduce recidivism, to establish healthy relationships in their communities, and to provide opportunities for economic, social, and civic empowerment.


The Other Awards is a Community Awards Show, honoring unsung heroes in Birmingham.. We're now accepting nominations in categories like "Best Activist", "Best Birmingham City School Teacher", "Most Passionate Neighborhood Association Attendee", "Funniest Person", "Best Service Industry Worker", and more. We're accepting nominees until the end of March. Winners will receive replicas of Frank Fleming’s “Storyteller” from the iconic Storyteller Fountain in Birmingham’s Five Points South neighborhood.

Nominations are open through the end of March.
