Hi. I'm Max.
I'm an event organizer, host, and emcee. I create thoughtful and memorable events that aren't boring.
I bring energy, humor, and professionalism to your special occasion to help you exceed your event goals.
I host non-profit fundraisers, festivals, sporting events, game shows, team-building outings, ceremonies, and officiate weddings.
Here are some of my events.

Recycled Runway was a wacky, tacky, and stupendously charitable fashion extravaganza that benefited the Bib & Tucker Sew-Op.
Here's how the event works: Teams register to compete. Each team is assigned a seamstress from the Bib&Tucker Sew Op, the beneficiary non-profit organization of this fundraising event. Each team is assigned a model and a stylist. Each team is presented with the same number of mystery garments from a thrift store in a box, and must take that box them to their seamstress, who will sew together an outfit, in a similarly limited amount of time. Then, the outfits are put on models, who walk in a fabulous runway show judged by a panel of local fashion icons.

Romantically Challenged was Birmingham's most enchanting and rambunctious dating game show. Hundreds of people apply each year to be contestants, and the ones selected to be on the show answer a variety of questions and perform a host of silly challenges to win the hearts of featured Bachelors and Bachelorettes. Along with Max, the event is co-hosted by a couple of married drag queens, the glamorous Sharon Cocx and Reese Eve Cocx.

The Other Awards was a Community Awards Show, honoring unsung heroes in Birmingham in categories like "Best Activist", "Best Birmingham City School Teacher", "Most Passionate Neighborhood Association Attendee", "Funniest Person", "Best Service Industry Worker", and more. . Winners received replicas of Frank Fleming’s “Storyteller” from the iconic Storyteller Fountain in Birmingham’s Five Points South neighborhood, created by ceramicist Katie Elkins.
24 presenters participated in the event, with dialogue written for each by Max.
Over 11,000 votes were cast online to determine the winners.

Imagine two fearless riders on double-height bicycles trying to knock each other off with padded lances while a huge audience cheers and shouts for their champion. Jousters battle it out over four knockout rounds before a tournament winner is crowned. We'll also have guest judges, audience participation mini-games, DJ, VIP area, local nonprofit tables, raffles and giveaways. You name it, we've got it! This event is about more than brave jousters on tall bikes, it is about raising funds so we can continue to provide reliable transportation to those facing homelessness and economic hardships in our community.

Inspired by Marcel Duchamp's infamous 1917 masterpiece, "Fountain" (the urinal), this award show featured some of Birmingham's most beloved artists and art enthusiasts dressed in costume as some of the most influential figures from the history of visual art. The event featured Frida Kahlo, Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe, Salvador Dali, the Mona Lisa and many more, who presented Fountys (small clay replicas of "Fountain") to winners of categories like "Most Confusing to the General Public", "Most Whimsical Representation of the Human Body", "Most Posthumous Success", and plenty more--all leading up to the final award of the evening, "Best Picture". Winners in each category were chosen by online voting in advance of the show.
Over 30 visual artists participated in this unforgettable show, and each was transformed by our talented team of make-up artists: Laura Eason, Lindsay Garrett, and Katy Ward. To create the physical awards, a Founty-making workshop was taught at Makebhm by local ceramicist, Katie Elkins.
Proceeds from ticket sales went to Space One Eleven, An artist-run, visual arts non-profit organization in Birmingham, AL.
