Recycled Runway: A New Signature Event

The Bib & Tucker Sew Op needed a new fundraising event that engaged the public and illustrated the impact of their mission of “building community through education, economic opportunity, and sustainable practices, using the art of sewing.” Over three years, Recycled Runway became a favorite event for supporters of Birmingham’s textile community.

The Project

I created, organized, marketed, and emceed an event that highlighted the work of local seamstresses. Teams signed up and were assigned a seamstress and a model. Each team was provided with a mystery box of garments and had 90 minutes to sew together a custom outfit, culminating in a runway fashion show judged by local style influencers.
